In the droplet separation equipment all forms of Multiwir packings are being
applied. For example the rectangular polypropylene packings are installed
in the droplet separating section of wet dedusters and absorbers. In case
high separation efficiency is required, the most suitable solution is an
annular form of Multiwir packing.
Multiwir entrainment separator installed in sugar juice evaporators
is an example. The device is placed in the upper part of the vapour
chamber. It consists of an annular structured packing mounted on the
conical bottom plate and covered with a conical lid. The packing is made of
stainless steel strips that can be assembled inside the existing apparatus.
The droplet separation process proceeds inside the packing while the vapour flows radially.
Droplets are stopped on packing strips and run down
towards the return pipe. |
